In response to Ken's statement:

"Why was the comment “an early American cowboy or even and Indian” used the way it was?

Or even an Indian implies they even an Indian has less right to have used his weapon for protection than the cowboy."

"Or even an Indian" does not imply that they had less of a right. It is stating that they, in addition to cowboys have the right to bear weapons for protection after they had been introduced to them.

Do note that American Westerners (Cowboys) were the ones who introduced pistols and rifles to the Indians. Beforehand the Indians were limited to use of primitive weaponry and did not have access to such arms as we are discussing.

Gun control (weapon control) is immoral because it leaves innocent people more vulnerable to threats to their safety. Weapon controls give bigger and stronger people a bigger tactical advantage over the rest.

Any politician advocating gun control should be arrested and charged with committing crimes against humanity.

Disregarding Sigmund Freud's "A fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity.," in the 1952 text "General Introduction to Psychoanalysis" and disregard Sarah Thompson's 2000 paper titled: "Raging Against Self Defense: A psychiatrist Examines the Anti-Gun Mentality," one might best define insanity as trying the same thing over and over again, each time expecting different results. If we check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's, October 3, 2003 "First Reports Evaluating the Effectiveness of Strategies for Preventing Violence: Firearms Laws," we will find that there is "NO EVIDENCE" that ANY gun-control law on the books that has been competently studied can be shown to have accomplished its intended result. Over 20,000 restrictive gun-laws - FOR WHAT????

How about we collect the names of those poor folks advocating we try, try again - so we may first, get them out of the lawmaking process, and secondly, refer them to the proper help for their affliction.

"And saying that the absence of gun control laws would make our country a safer place is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard."

There is not one single independent academic study showing any gun control law in this nation as having a positive impact at reducing crime. What difference would it make if laws that are having no impact are repealed?

Since gun control does not have any impact on criminal access and misuse of firearms, supporting and continued passage of more gun control will eventually lead to firearms prohibition for lawful citizens.

Where exactly do you drawl the line in the sand and say no more gun control no matter what?

"Isn’t it a little dishonest to say that all gun control advocates want to take the guns out of good people’s hands? I am an advocate of gun control mainly for the purpose of keeping guns out of the hands of people who should not be allowed to have them. Saying people who support gun control want to disarm everyone is BS. And saying that the absence of gun control laws would make our country a safer place is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard."

Don't know where to begin with such hogwash.

The second amendment insures the people will always have the means (and RIGHT) to resist a tyrannical government.

And you want to give the government the power to control where, when, and IF the supreme authority of this land - the citizen, can do so?

Please go back to school, and re-study history.
