Most of what passes for conservatism these days, has little to do with - and is antithetical to - the philosophies of men like Russell Kirk, Richard Weaver, Murray Rothbard and other founders of the American conservative movement. The most prominent traditional conservative in the United States today (with the possible exception of Pat Buchanan) Ron Paul, explains what “neoconservatism” is, and how these interlopers bare little resemblance to at least the suffix of the title they claim:
