“Mr. Conley is not only more conservative than Lindsay Graham (who isn’t?), he is in fact a Ron Paul Democrat.
This may seem strange to some, but it shouldn’t. I have argued before that the anti-corporate mentality of many “labor” Democrats could be channeled into an authentically pro-liberty message with a little education, and that seems to be Conley’s goal. Conley is not only right on war (unlike Graham’s primary challenger Buddy Witherspoon), but he is also right on trade, immigration, civil liberties and amazingly enough the Fed! While I myself find many of the social issues to be peripheral at best, Conley is a pro-life, observant Catholic. His slogan appears to be “help me fight the neocons and advance the cause of liberty”. What serious paleo or decentralist would ignore that call to action?
Already folks are counting Conley out and treating his campaign as a joke. A friend of his sent me a message today suggesting that he “accidentally won the nomination”. One can hold on to that theory if they like, but I believe it was divine intervention and I will do my best to make sure Conley is the next Senator from South Carolina.”

Conley is a princilpled man. America FIRST.
Lindsay Graham’s has a lot of out side, over seas interests and doesn’t mind making money off of companies using cheep or slave labor. He voted for the Illegal Amnesty bill, he voted for the patriot act which allows for wire tapping our phones and he voted to give Bush and the communication companies amnesty for their illegal wire tapping.
Lindsay usues our tax dollars to go to the Middle East where our tax dollars are also sent to help build the largest US embassy in Iraq the world has ever seen, over 100 acres BIG with walls thick as a dam..while Iraqi’s are fuming mad without clean drinking water and electricity. So much for rebuilding Iraq..the fortress US is more important and I suppose he may enjoy the luxury in dubois while he’s at it over there (the new ritz to elites) too..HE is a Bush lap dog and he’s got to go…time for SC to elect a real American Statesman, Bob Conley!!
There would be MANY democrats and MANY Republicans and MANY third party people, including GREEN, NATURAL LAW, LIBERTARIAN
IF Pauls message got out with a bit better wording and media coverage. WHY?
Paul is a Constitutionalist. WHY is THAT conservative? Because it “used” to be that the Constitution was NOT “just a piece of paper”
IT was the law of the land. We were a nation run by law!
All parties would see that going back to the Constitution of this country would be the ultimate Conservative thing to do, Patriotic thing to do and human thing to do for everyone.
Paul would not just yank social programs out from under everyone, there would be transition whereby all would be able to get with the actual idea of being capable of making their own way without being on the dole and without being dishonest which is the concept of big business—exploitation and dishonesty and unfairness.
With the Constitution back into place; I wish I could have written Paul’s speaches.
Just saying that he was
“against” without explaining HOW to made the change over to a different way of life scared people.
Paul would have made a transition over to the Constitution of the USA, our only hope for ever having back the original United States of America, now, a defunct and misunderstood notion.
As a doctor I would like to have believed that Paul would consider that abortion is murder BUT put it alongside of the fact that execution if murder, war is murder, allowing toxic waste is murder and many other things that the government thru big business has gotten away with in this country. I should have written Paul’s speeches. The candidate has to make it a real possibility to stand for the Constitution of the United States of America.
Standing for it and using it as the means to run this country is such a far cry from the way it is, that it is frightening to people. I would hope that Paul would being about a massive education of the people here and would promote actual participation in govt starting at school level Only with active participation might this bold experiemnent have worked. I have little hope we will ever restore anything about what we were formed with. But Paul is the first candidate who ever spoke up for it
As an intellectual liberal, Bob Conley presents a refreshing altehrnative to the neo-conservative, Republican, Lindsey Graham. The Republicans brought economic disaster to working class South Carolinians, through NAFTA, CAFTA, and innumerable trade deals to enrich their Republican friends. South Carolina jobs have gone overseas. Bob Conley brings a refreshing change to the pro-war, globalist agendas of both parties. HIs Catholic morality should be no obsticle for a evangelical State like SC, (although there may be some vestige of ani-Catholic prejudice among recent immigrants to our state from colder climes). I think his candidacy is refreshing, and will instill a new debate to “politics as usual”.
