Would you choose Stalin or Lenin? Death by fire or by starvation? At some point these types of choices become meaningless because they're just as bad as each other. That's clearly the case with Obama and McCain. They're both unacceptable to patriots. By all means vote - however, never vote for the lesser of two evils. Thus, there is no way Dr. Dobson can support/vote for McCain without shredding his own credibility and leaving himself open to the charge that he is a double-minded man (James 1:8) which, alas, he will have proven himself to be if he supports McCain.
