Then, we should take out ALL evil dictators, everywhere!!! Too bad for the “collatoral damage” that might be caused (dead kids). I’m sure that is what GOD wants us to do. Right? BTW, what WERE the stated objectives for going into Iraq? Oh, yeaaaahhhh, to find the weapons of mass destruction. I forgot.

Some people just see things in such black and white. Either you support Palin/McCain, or you MUST be a democrat, right? WRONG.

First point: one of the stated objectives and or/reasons for going into Iraq was not the killing of the innocent citizenry–they were not the targets, nor did they provide reason to be. The stated objective of an abortion is, and can only be, to kill an innocent child. Furthermore, in the specific instance of Iraq, a dictator was deposed who did, in fact, target his innocent citizenry. Under Hussein, they were the target that they did not deserve to be–akin to an abortion. I do not deny that innocent citizens have been lost during the war and that is certainly unfortunate. However, I do not think it is accurate to equate a possible result with an intended result. Additional note: it was Hussein who was willing to create attacks on his own people and then blame Americans–much like terrorists will hide in churches, or in the middle of very populous towns, often taking families hostage in their own homes so as to use them as a moral shield against us.

Second point: above, Cara Kelly states “that whoever is ‘leading’ this country…needs to be focused on the job…” For obvious reasons, I am curious as to whether Ms. Kelly is a supporter of Bill Clinton on those grounds.

Such negative comments about a person who has over an 80% approval rating in their state they serve as governor. That should speak for itself other than speculation and rumors.

EXACTLY!!!

So an unborn American child has a “right to life” (even if that life may be of little quality, hey, they might grow up to be qualified cannon fodder for our never ending wars, right?), but living children in another country matter not. How Christian. What is also questionable -are her actions during the beginning of her labor, the onset of which took place during a speech she was giving in Texas, before she then boarded a plane for a 12 hour flight back to Alaska so that her child would be born IN Alaska. This is strange, as it is the policy of every airline I know of NOT to allow women who are even close to labor to board ANY plane. The danger that she posed to not only her unborn child, but also to the other passengers, by doing this, is selfish and atrotious behavior, imho. Some have considered her actions an attempted “fundamentalist” abortion. I’m sorry, but besides showing extremely poor judgement in at least that episode, she also seems to have quite a few family problems that might just get in the way of her ability to “lead”. I think that whoever is “leading” this country, (a term I use loosely) needs to be focused on the job, because, God knows, we are in a mess. Course, we’ll never know what she actually THINKS about any of this, because she won’t be answering any questions. This whole election process has become NOTHING but a big circus. I bet she drops out in October, after the Republicat party is sufficiently “excited”, and a more fitting neocon will take her place. This is just a McInsane ploy to get people back on board a party that leaves EVERYTHING to be desired. Thanks Jack, for educating those who are willing to think for themselves… and for the rest of you, it would be awesome if you would just try.

I grew up in the Low Country and graduated from the College, and it is good to see so much good sense in a Charleston paper of such lively opinions and diverse views.
