I love how the Southern Avenger leavs out the most important part of the "I Believe" License plates issue.

Namely, the SC legislature pushing the plates through, jumping any and all of the processes set up for the approval of specialized license plates and thereby violating the Lemon test in at least two if not all three of the prongs.

Would they have made such exemptions for the existing Secular Humanistic plates? Obviously no, because they didn't. What about a Jewish or Islamic plate? Or are our Jewish and Muslim neighbors not considered residents of SC?

I read this piece while visiting family in Charleston over the holidays. I just wanted to drop a note to say how much I dug it.

Yes, Thomas Jefferson, one of the most brilliant people in human history, glowingly referred to the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment as having erected a "wall of separation between church and state."
So, either Jack Hunter is smarter than Thomas Jefferson, or else Hunter is a blithering moron.
Gee, I wonder which is right....
