When Kim Jong-Il finally test launched a missile this week, I knew it was only a matter of time before some neocon would cry out for the resurrection of the Bush doctrine of pre-emptive war. Sure enough, reported The Raw Story on Sunday: “Only hours after North Korea launched a rocket, Newt Gingrich was on television saying the United States should have preemptively attacked the nuclear-armed country – with an electromagnetic pulse. ‘We do not appreciate the scale of threat that is evolving on the planet,’ the former House Speaker said on Fox News Sunday. ‘And North Korea is a totally irresponsible dictatorship run by a person who is clearly out of touch with reality.” Reacting to President Obama’s refusal to take military action against nations like North Korea and Iran, Gingrich said “One morning, just like 9/11, there’s going to be a disaster… (and) I have yet to see the United Nations do anything effective with either Iran or North Korea.” As for Obama’s meeting with Russian president Dmitry Medvedev, Gingrich said Russia cannot be trusted and that “It’s very dangerous to have a fantasy foreign policy, and it can get you in enormous trouble.”
Gingrich is right. It is dangerous to have a fantasy foreign policy – which is exactly why Americans who value safety, security and peace should not be listening to the dangerous, foreign policy fantasies of Newt Gingrich.

Not good man…. yikes!
So much for ever supporting Mark Sanford in the future. What a monumental disappointment.
I agree… I wonder, does Jack even read the comments section?
I can never understand why the Neocons want to pick on third world starving countries.
South Korea is Pusan Steel,Hyundia,Kia,Daewoo, and many more large industries. Also with a well fed population of 50 million against 22 million N. Koreans I think it`s time we let them settle their differences without the help of Newt or our military.
Please someone stick Newt back in the closet with duck tape over his mouth. You might put his protege Sanford in there with him.
Remember Newt`s fabulous debate with Al Gore a couple of years back? that was an a## kissing contest to behold.
